Donation Process

How to Support Our Toy and Snack Drive

1

Step 1: Choose Your Donation Method

Select whether you’d like to donate funds, toys, or snacks – or if you would like to help bake cookies or snacks for dogs and / or shelter workers. Monetary donations can be made online, while physical items can be dropped off or picked up.

2

Step 2: Arrange Drop-Off or Pick-Up

If donating toys or snacks, decide on a convenient drop-off location or schedule a pick-up within the Aurora area. Our team is ready to assist! We will be emailing all volunteers with more information in the coming days.

3

Step 3: Make a Difference

Your contributions will bring joy and comfort to the dogs *and* shelter workers at Aurora Animal Services. Every donation counts and helps improve their quality of life.

You can donate, drop-off, or have us pick up your donations. If you are making snacks, there will be a pre-handout meeting to organize.
This is for stickers and a holiday thank you card

Thank you for signing up to volunteer for the upcoming fundraiser to support local shelters and their hardworking staff! This unique event brings together volunteers to create homemade snacks for shelter workers and dog-friendly treats for the pups in their care.

Event Details

  • When: Wednesday, December 18th, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Where: Treats will be distributed to local shelters (pick-up details below)

We will collect all treats from volunteers on Tuesday evening, December 17th to prepare for distribution the following morning.

Treat Guidelines

For Dog-Friendly Treats:
To ensure the safety of the dogs, please use only the following approved ingredients:

  • Peanut butter (must be free of xylitol and added sugar)
  • Oats
  • Whole wheat flour
  • Pumpkin (no added sugar or sweeteners)
  • Applesauce
  • Eggs
  • Carrots
  • Sweet potato
  • Plain yogurt

If you choose to bake with peanut butter, double-check that it contains no xylitol—a common additive that is harmful to dogs.

For Shelter Workers:
Feel free to make any treats you’d like for our amazing shelter staff! They deserve a sweet treat for all the love and care they provide.

Recipe Cards

We’ll provide recipe cards at the event so shelter workers know exactly what ingredients are in the snacks. If they’d like, they can use the recipes to make treats themselves in the future.

Distribution Plan

We’ll distribute all treats to shelters on December 18th. Any extra items will be shared with nearby shelters to spread the love even further.

Thank you for joining us in supporting our local shelters and the wonderful dogs they care for. Your kindness makes all the difference!
